I have a vision of a new startup ecosystem. A brand new startup world.
I believe that in our startup world majority of the investments are done and startups are built out of fear and misunderstanding what money is and what value it can bring. It creates a lot of "startup waste". Huge funds that don't know where to invest into, startup founders running after success and big checks, employees putting fame first.
I don't want to live in this world, cause it doesn't create value.
I want to live in an honest startup world, where both startups and investors act out of love to the topics, technology, and people and not out of fear and greed.
In this world, only two things matter - trust and commitment.
From both sides: investors and founders.
Teams work for startups because they are passionate about the domain, are interested in building something new and they understand that in a team and with the right investment they can achieve more than alone.
On the other hand, investors also have a passion for the product, understand that the money they invest is "play money" and do not have an immediate goal to get 10x return. They count on a more involved and long-term investment.
I believe that for this "perfect world" we have enough teams and enough investors to finance them. By getting rid of the startup bullshit, we can lower the investment costs, increase investment efficiency and highlight the right teams and products.
The trick here, is how to connect both sides: investors and teams. and how to make sure good teams don't get into the hands of a bad investor.
Cause if you invest or build out of fear, you create fear.
